8 Law of Assumption Techniques for Every Mind
Some persons have a vivid imagination.
Others can hear very well in their mind.
Others feel more than they see.
Others have difficulties visualizing or concentrating…
And the good news is — there are techniques for everyone.
There is a lot of confusion around law of assumption techniques.
Which one is the best?
Do I need to visualize?
Do I need affirmations?
Am I doing it right?
People jump from one technique to another, thinking the technique is the power.
It’s not.
In this article, you’ll understand what techniques actually are, why they work, which ones exist, and most importantly — which one fits you. So you stop forcing methods that don’t feel natural and start using the one that aligns with how your mind already works.

Techniques are NOT the power
Before choosing any technique it’s important you understand this:
Techniques are not the power, YOU ARE.
Many persons think that techniques are the absolute most important thing to use the law of assumption, and that they have to follow them perfectly or their manifestation won’t come. That’s not true at all.
Techniques don’t manifest. The way you feel does. And the sole goal of the techniques is to change the way you feel through your assumptions.
Techniques are just tools to make it easier for you to change your assumptions, you don’t have to follow them perfectly or overthink.
How to pick the right technique for you
Every person is different, so a technique that works for someone might not work for you.
Some persons have a very vivid imagination, they can see very clear images in their mind effortlessly, it’s just natural to them. In this case a technique that requires visualization would probably be the best for them.
Now, some persons can hear sounds in their mind very vividly, as if that sound is really just there in the room with them. If you are someone like this, then a visualization technique might not be the best for you.
Other persons can’t visualize at all, or have a lot of difficulties with it, and they also can’t hear sounds in their mind. In this case they should pick a technique that doesn’t require any visuals or sounds, such as affirmations.
So all of this is to tell you, don’t worry about what you can’t do, focus on your strengths and you will surely find the perfect technique for you.
I recommend you pick one of the techniques I will give you below and stick with it for a while. If it doesn’t feel right or you don’t get results with it, change it until you find out what’s the best one for you.
The Most Important Step Before Any Technique
Before doing any of the techniques, it’s absolutely necessary for you to be in a relaxed state, also known as state akin to sleep.
This state is very important because when you are in it, it becomes much easier to change your assumptions. When you’re very relaxed, your conscious mind has less resistance, so any assumption you make is going to be easier and much more powerful.
Very briefly, this is how you can access this state:
1. First, find a quiet and comfortable place and lie down as you feel comfortable.
2. Stop moving your body and close your eyes.
3. Start counting backwards slowly from 50 to 1.
After a while, as you go further in the numbers, you’ll start feeling more and more relaxed, until you reach a point where you don’t even feel your body anymore. That’s it — that’s the so-called “state akin to sleep”.
Honestly, don’t overthink it. Once you start feeling relaxed, you can start applying the technique.
You should do this every time you apply a technique. Ideally, do it before sleep, but you can really do it anytime during the day, and it will still work.
Law of Assumption Techniques
“I Remember When” Technique
This technique was popularized by Neville Goddard, and he talked about it a few times.
It’s very simple. First, think about the problem you have — let’s say financial problems. Then say to yourself honestly:
“I remember when I had no money.”
“I remember when money was a concern.”
You can say anything, as long as it implies your problem is now in the past. While saying it, you will feel the relief and happiness of leaving that problem behind. Your only goal is to enjoy this feeling to the max. Keep repeating it and immerse yourself in the feeling of your wish fulfilled!
“The Lullaby” Technique
As the name suggests, this technique involves gently repeating something as you fall asleep, just like a lullaby. It’s a great technique and doesn’t require much concentration, so if you’ve ever had problems focusing, this one is perfect for you.
First, think about how you would feel if your desire was already a reality. Think about it for a while. After some time, you will naturally begin to feel joy or gratitude — there’s no need to force anything, it will come to you.
After that, choose a short phrase that implies your desire is already true and that you are thankful for it. For example, you could say :
“Thank you! Thank you!”
“It’s done!”
Or, if you believe in a higher power watching over you: “Thank you, Father!”
It can be anything, as long as it brings you into the feeling of gratitude. The moment you say your phrase and you feel something, it means you have successfully assumed your problem is over. Keep repeating it gently, over and over, as you fall asleep.
Do this night after night — or until you feel your problem is solved — and let it naturally sink into your subconscious mind.
The “Revision” Technique
If you are someone who dwells a lot in the past, this technique is for you — with it, you can “change” events that didn’t go the way you wanted.
This technique works best at the end of your day, when you’re ready to go to sleep, or immediately after something happens that you didn’t like.
For example, imagine you’re drinking something and accidentally spill it on a shirt you really like. You feel very frustrated about it. Here’s what you do in your imagination:
Go back to the moment you are drinking. Instead of seeing it as it actually happened, see it the way you would have liked it to happen. Grab the cup calmly, drink it carefully, and nothing spills — everything is fine this time.
You can do this once or many times, until you feel the satisfaction of your action and feel good about it. Once it feels right, you can stop.
Now, what happens next is mysterious — maybe someone will give you a new shirt, maybe you’ll find the exact same shirt somewhere, maybe your own shirt will be “magically” cleaned. No one can tell you exactly how it will happen — but one thing is certain: your problem will be solved as if nothing happened.
You can use this technique for anything that really bothers you, and your problem will disappear!
The “Congratulations” Technique
The name says it all — this technique involves being congratulated.
It’s very simple. Think about what you want, then pick one or more people who would genuinely be happy for you — someone who would truly rejoice in your good fortune.
Now, close your eyes and see them in front of you, and hear them say anything that implies you now have what you wanted. For example, if you wanted to manifest a new car, you could hear your friends say:
“Congratulations! Your new car looks amazing!”
“Wow, congratulations! Will you give us a ride?”
You hear exactly what you want to hear, as long as it implies you now have what you wanted. Keep hearing it over and over, and just enjoy the feeling of your friends congratulating you on your good fortune. It’s going to feel amazing!
The Telephone Technique
This technique is originally called the Telephone Technique, but since no one really uses telephones anymore, we can just call it the Phone Technique. If you are someone who’s constantly on the phone, you’re going to love this.
First, decide exactly what you want. Once you’re sure, pick a friend you talk to often — someone whose voice you are very familiar with.
Now, with your eyes closed, hear your phone ring. Imagine picking it up, and then hear your friend talking to you. Hear their voice full of excitement about the amazing thing that just happened to you.
Rejoice in hearing your friend’s voice, and feel the happiness of now having what you wanted. Let yourself get completely lost in this feeling. You can repeat this imaginary call over and over again.
Once you feel the full satisfaction of the experience, it means you have successfully changed your assumption. Now you can just “finish the call” and wait for your world to change.
The “Counting Money” Technique
This technique is a very simple and very powerful one if your goal is to manifest money.
First, think about the amount of money you would like to manifest. Maybe it’s $1,000, $10,000, even a million — it doesn’t matter what the amount is, as long as it feels realistic to you. It’s important you choose an amount that feels natural, so you don’t create resistance while applying this technique.
Let’s say, for example, you want to manifest $10,000. This is what you do :
Visualize the money in front of you in a pile, and then simply start counting it until you are satisfied. As you’re counting, you will begin to feel the satisfaction of having all this money. Your only goal is to enjoy that feeling and let yourself experience it fully.
Once you feel the joy and happiness of having this amount of money, that means you have successfully assumed that it is yours. That’s it — very simple.
The Eavesdropping Technique
To apply this technique, you only need to be able to hear something in your mind.
You can use it to manifest anything you want. First, decide what you want. Then imagine hearing a conversation between people you know talking about you — but when they’re speaking, they are talking about the “new you”, the one who now has everything you wanted to have.
For example, let’s say you want to manifest an SP, or you want to manifest being in a relationship. You could hear a conversation between two of your friends, or really anyone you know — it doesn’t matter who. It’s just easier if you are familiar with their voice.
Here’s an example of what you could eavesdrop on in your imagination:
“- Did you see Susan’s new boyfriend?
– Oh yes, of course. They’re always together, it’s impressive!
– Absolutely! He’s really madly in love with her.”
You can hear absolutely anything — it just has to imply that you now have what you wanted to have.
Keep hearing this conversation over and over again, and get lost in the feeling of your wish being fulfilled.
The “Sleeping There” Technique
If your goal is to be in a specific place, this technique is perfect for you. You can use it to manifest being in any country or really any place you want — it could be somewhere you already know, or a place you have never been to at all.
To apply this technique, first choose where you want to be. For example, if you want to be in Paris, you can imagine or “feel” yourself in a hotel room, and just in front of you, you see the famous Eiffel Tower.
If you have trouble visualizing, you can simply close your eyes and imagine the room you are in is the place you want to be. Just lose yourself in the feeling of being there, enjoy it, and have fun — that’s it.
Tip: It’s helpful to look at many images and videos of the place you want to be. This will make it easier to immerse yourself in the assumption and feel like you’re really there.
